Is it as good as the bulb that came with my projector originally? It is exactly the same quality, it is not an imitation lamp. If I buy this item and find out it is the wrong item or doesn't work for any reason, can I get an exchange or refund?

It tilts back and forth very rapidly and the mirrors reflect light onto your screen. Oh wow and is this the first time your having problems with it? It will be quite expensive to have it repaired just about as much as buying a new TV. I have a panasonic ptlc14 and the lamp replacement message has came on.
I have a replacement for the bulb housing included should I wait until the bulb goes out to change it, will this harm the set if I do. Picture still looks good, no fading or anything. I do not have the original remote but i do have a logictech harmony. It has all the features of the original but i just cant get it to work.
Should i get original or do you guys have any other ideas? You need the remote for the menu button to bring up the commands for the lamp reset timer. You can find a replacement remote at a low price at discount-merhcant. Regards, Shelagh. I know how to work it but I dont know if the buttons will work the same. I have the same button options but I just do not want to go out and spend the 50 bucks if i dont have too.
I have tried some of the reset options I read but none seem to work. I need to find out how to resrt the lamp. If anyone knows how to reset the lamp timer for this model of TV i would really like to know. I replaced my ty-la and now i smell something like plastic burning after about 45 mins to an hour.
Any ideas what it could be? TV and picture are perfect otherwise. The lamp replacement light isnt flashing so not sure what it could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Can anyone help please? Sharon: I had a similar problem but the spot was a red one towards the right side middle of the TV. My TV was under extended warranty and Panasonic diagnosed as a memory problem in the TV that needed upgraded.
Took 10 minutes and working perfectly. Should be no more than a service call. Hope that helps! The TV then displayed a message saying the hour meter had been reset.
I hope someone can help me. I have replace my lamp and I was having the same trouble as a lot of people with the reset your lamp meter notice. I do not have the orginal remote so I pressed and held the volume button down and pressed the zero for 5 seconds.
I could not get it to work. If any one knows how to help please let me know. Thanks so much. I was having a heck of a time trying to get the TV on the last couple of months after I changed out the bulb. Will post the news after they got to bed. Now whenever I turn it on, the green power light blinks for a few seconds and then the lamp indicator light starts flashing followed by the power light blinking red again… Is this a bad bulb or something different?
I hope all will be OK? Any comments? And also will take use your suggestions posted on reset hour meter. The bulb went out a few months ago. Could finally afford a new bulb and put in today.
Followed all of the instructions in manual. When I turn on TV, green light flashes for about a minute, then changes to red light flashing. Nothing ever appears on the screen and TV switches off.
I have pulled out the lamp unit several times and reinserted always getting the same problem. I make sure the door is shut and locked each time, everything put back as I found it. Any ideas? Hi, I too have a pt44lcx My daughter has a habit of turning it on and off incessantly. Normally it just has to cool down long enough and will then start up normally. Judging by your experience changing the bulb will probably not solve my problem. Have you come to that yet?
If the lamp replacement works, great, if not, then it also might be a ballast issue. Call DM customer service at for some tech support before investing money into it. If you are watching the tv and click the power off but then change your mind and click power on again right away, the tv will get hung up in the power off. If you click it once more, let it power off all the way and then try to turn it back on, it should work. This happens to us quite a bit with a toddler that always manages to find the remote.
Weve had the set for almost 4 years and the Relace Lamp message has been coming on for almost a year before she finally went out. It was doing exactly what your tv is now doing. I think you got a bad lamp Do not buy the generic, send it back and get a Philips. I did not get the housing unit but wish I had. To reset hold wait for meassgae to go away and then hold the tv volume button all the way high and then all the way down, THEN push the split button on the remote bottom 2nd from left A message will apeearthat the lamp has been reset to zero.
Red light will go off too. Hey Jun i have a PtLCX65 panasonic… When i changed mine i took the silver plate that hides your speakers off and in the middle you will see too screws remove them and you will see your lamp………. Mine is having the same problem. New bulb, green light flashes for a while, then blinks red along with the lamp indicator.

DId you ever figure out your problem with your panasonic PTLC1 power button blinking green after lamp replacement.
I hadbeen going crazy tring to figure out how to reset the lamp to 0 on my Panasonic, until I read on here how to do it and it worked like a dream. Just a note to those trying to replace their bulbs with non factory issued parts. I did this myself and after about a month I noticed that I started developing yellow streaks on in the screen. This happens when their is damage to the Light engine. I have been reading a lot of posts and have concluded that this happens due to the aftermarket lamps out there are not to the same standards as OEM Lamps sold by Panasonic.
You may save a few bucks but you may damage your Light engine as these after market lamps are not rated and burn hotter causing damage to the light engine which is very sensitive and is very close to the bulb which heats up when on.
Barry, I am trying to replace the bulb on my set. I made the same mistake.. I have a Panasonic DLP tv and the replace lamp had been on for awhile, ignored it. Now my picture is completly black and I hear a clicking sound when I turn it on or try and turn volume up. No sound just clicking. If I replace the bulb will this fix my problem. I cannot find it, and would like to reset….
I changed lamps and now sometimes it comes on and sometimes it blinks green for five seconds then it blinks red and then nothing. I have a PT52LCX35 is has a bunch of green and red spotes on the screen when there is light colors showing.
Please let me know if anyone has see this. My television at home, Panasonic model no. PTLCX66, was working just fine until a recent storm. I had it plugged in to the proper type of electricity, and a UPS to insure it works and lasts. It worked for around 4 or 5 years with me, surviving through many storms, thanks to the UPS aswell.
During the recent storm, the television was off, but it still suffered from some damage that made it cease to work. Can someone please help? I bought a panasonic 43 inch dlp tv from a guy n he said it had no problem when I took it home I see yellow color like white become yellow n I was wondering how do u fix this problem? Just changed the lamp and it turned off once already. Thank for the information regarding where to purchase the lamp.
Did you get just the lamp or the entire housing unit assembly, as most suggest that we do? I tried the instructions above at at first it did not work. I did what Daniel said to do turn vol way up and then hit the Split button.
It worked great!!! We have had this reset lamp pop up on our screen for months! Thanks Daniel. Thanks for this information. I searched everywhere for this information and nobody had it.
Many thanks to your site for the info!!!!!!!!! They claim these lamps are made with UHR technology Ultra high pressure Mercury lamp for replacement and that the housing for these bulbs is made using the same mold as the original model. Can you please help? Anyone know what to do? I just replaced the lamp but I am unable to reset the lamp timer because I do not have the original remote. Believe it or not, my dog ate it. Is there any other way to reset this without the remote?
