R I'll bet that they're the same as other GM four note horns. Ed Edited November 20, by RivNut spelling see edit history. Ed, I naturally agree with you on using 4 seperate notes but still would like to confirm this with an all original Riv.

Are the horns all the same size? Sorry, I forgot to mention how the horns integrated.
I did not notice if the horns were smaller than my louder 1 wire ones but I did test each right off of the battery before installation and the 2 wire ones are noticeably quieter.
There may indeed be a difference in the performance of the horns, based on a small sample of used horns. I measured 3.
The orientation while firing wasn't consistent, but it did seem the single-wire was more intense in back-to-back testing, which matches the current draw observations. Also, I was incorrect about the wire gauge; the '95 DeVille harness has 18 Ga.

This will allow you to correctly change how the new horns are powered and triggered in a Volvo. If you're installing these horns in a non-Volvo with a normal horn circuit, I would still advise installing a relay to provide power. These horns reportedly draw about 5 amps each and I think they'll always work better when direct full battery voltage is available. Below photo view is from the ground looking up. I bent the horn brackets to point the horns a bit forward and to move them away from that charcoal canister.
And then I bolted together each pair of brackets above the fender brace so that the brackets sandwiched the brace. I did this because I felt drilling holes in the brace limited my options for small adjustments in the final positioning and my goal was to get these things positioned just right so none of the horns would be rubbing or touching or vibrating against anything.
If you're wondering what hole I used to bolt these brackets together in the above diagram, it's this one circled. Contact Us. Prancing Moose Stickers. Volvo Stickers. New Items.
